An international milestone.
The new Istanbul Airport opened almost unnoticed by the German public at the end of October. The airport, built in a record time of just over four years, is on its way to become one of the largest airports in the world and a new aviation hub.
However, Turkey is not only proud of its size, but also of the international companies that operate at the new airport. Thus, the German company Heinemann will operate the duty-free area with Unifree for 25 years and DHL is also based at the airport.
After more than two years of development and implementation, the opening of the airport also saw the launch of the PORESY LS One cashier solution in the first duty-free shop on the departure level.
It has been a long way in the last 2 years and the entire international PORESY team worked hard to meet all the requirements and make a smooth start to this important project. The collaboration between all development, consulting, QA and PM teams worked smoothly. The customer feedback is therefore very positive.
PORESY CEO Sascha Voelz: “I would like to thank all the members of the international team who have made a tremendous contribution over a long time to realize this project.”
One week before the opening of Istanbul Airport, PORESY LS One was launched in the duty-free area of the Australia Gold Coast Airport, and on 19 November 2018 the launch is scheduled for Sydney Airport. With these three projects, PORESY once again underlines its international capabilities.
